Spindles Settle for Another Point

Thursday nights matchup against Collar City FC proved yet again, to be tough one.
The match kicked off right away, the Spins had a good bit of build up play leading to a tremendous through ball from Ammar Singaporewala, to Zeidane Adjei, who promptly volleyed it into the corner. 1-0, Spindles.
Spindles continued to grow into the game, finding another goal 12 minutes in. Another breakdown in Collar City’s defense lead to a cutting Lewis Whalen, who found Anders Trestick inside the 6 yard box and placed the ball into the top corner. 2-0 Spindles.
As the first half marched on, a drop in play came onto the Spins. Collar city looked to play lofted through balls to try and exploit the back line. The found success; as the 37th minute Collar City did just that, leading to a goal. 2-1.
Spindles hoped to come back from half time rejuvenated, but it was much the same. Struggling to finish chances, Collar City grew not only into the game, but more and more confident.
In the last 10 minutes they found an equalizer, a breakdown in the Spindles build up play, lead to a one on one with the keeper, Collar City buries it. 2-2.
As the final few minutes were upon them, the Spins could not find a late winner.
Spindles United will look to get a much needed win next week against Deathwish. They will be back Thursday, June 26th at 6:15 pm at Nott Road, Field 2.
