The Inaugural Season
Founded in 2022, Spindles United Football Club joined the Capital District Soccer League.
After a successful inaugural season, the opportunity for Spindles became clearer.

Three Cohoes Natives came together in 2022 with passion for football, love for the community and care for the environment.

A Green Thumb Club
Football in the U.S. is complicated, but it doesn't have to be in the Capital Region.
NYC, Philadelphia, Austin, and many more. Cities all across the country are cultivating a new soccer culture.
Affordable, grassroots, accessible and community-based soccer leagues will be the driving force to grow the beautiful game in the U.S.

The CDSL
The Capital District Soccer League (CDSL) has existed in the Albany area for more than 30 years.
The league consists of 8 local amateur clubs, with a 10 week regular season from May - July.
In 2023, Spindles second season in the CDSL, the club made its first playoff final appearance.
An Historic Crest
After a rebrand in 2023, the Spindles United Crest is a representation of the history of Cohoes, NY.
Using a Victorian Gothic font from the cities 17th century architecture, lifestyle, and branding.
The woman silloutete in the center badge honors the thousands of young women and children that were overworked and underpaid in the Cohoes Mills during the Industrial Revolution.
