Soccer Tots is a Success for Year 2
On Saturday, October 18 we wrapped up the 2025 Cohoes Soccer Tots season.
9 sessions, 5 weeks, 39 happy soccer tots.
Spindles United took over the Cohoes Recreational Soccer Tots Program in 2024. A year which proved to be a successful partnership. The story continued into 2025, now completing another great season with the youth of Cohoes.
Soccer Tots is for Cohoes kids ages 4-6 to start early in their soccer development. To get an understanding of the basics of the soccer as an activity, not just a game.
This includes simple, repetitive soccer techniques but also listening skills, understanding teams, and practicing to get better.
Our biggest goal with soccer tots is getting each kid to want to come back for every session. And getting them custom to the soccer season, looking forward to it every year, and sticking with it as they grow older.
With 39 kids signed up this year, we averaged about 31 kids per session. A great day-to-day turnout compared to the program before we picked it up.

We want them to fall in love with the game, have fun, and get better.
Thanks to all of the hard work of our volunteer coaches, we have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and appreciation by all the soccer tots parents.

Every hour our coaches spent at Lansing Park this year was fully volunteered on their free time.
This season also would not have been as successful if it wasn’t for the addition of new gear like pinnies, cones, games, etc. All purchased using the funds raised by our own Ian Maguire during his Ironman 70.3 back in June.
