The Spins Drop Points Against Vassi

Vassi 3 - 1 Spindles

80' - Dan Crook

A stormy Sunday afternoon was gloomy both on and off the pitch for Spindles.

Yesterday's Matchweek 8 against Vassi Realty (rescheduled from an earlier date) was a tough and wet battle for the Spins.

Once the first whistle went off, the expected rainstorm came pouring in and last for the rest of the match.

The match started strong for both sides, but eventually Vassi broke the deadlock for a 1-0 lead, 15'.

Shortly after, they extended that lead to 2 just before the half.

Spindles looked defeated and worn down at the half.

The second half saw a 3rd goal from Vassi to make it 3-0.

With everything to play for, Spindles pressed all half and eventually got a goal with about 10 minutes to play to make it 3-1. A header by defender Dan Crook. His second of the season.

After a handful of chances, unfortunately the Spins could not bag another and the match ended 3-1 Vassi. Dropping much-needed points as Spindles head into the final match of the regular season on Thursday against Backheel FC.
